- Payments are handled by our payment partners. We never see or store your card details.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information at any time.
Who we are
Real Media Telecommunications ("we", "us", "our") sells mobile data bundles and airtime online. We decide how and why your personal information is used when you buy from this website, which makes us the data controller under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA).
This policy applies to this website and to any purchase you make through it.
Information we collect
We only collect what we need to complete your order and run the service.
| Information you give us | Your email address and the phone number you enter at checkout. If you contact us, we also keep your message and the details you share in it. |
|---|---|
| Order information | The package you bought, the amount, the date and time, your payment reference and the status of the order (paid, delivered, failed). |
| Technical information | Your IP address, browser type, device type and the pages you visit. This is recorded automatically in our server logs when you use the site. |
We do not ask for your card number, bank login or any sensitive personal information such as health, religion or political views.
How we use your information
- To process your order and deliver the data or airtime you bought.
- To send you your receipt, order updates and delivery details.
- To answer your questions and resolve problems with an order.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse and failed or duplicate payments.
- To keep the site secure, fix errors and improve how it works.
- To keep records we are required to keep by law, including tax and accounting records.
We do not use your information for automated decisions that significantly affect you, and we do not send marketing messages unless you have asked us to.
Why we are allowed to use it
The NDPA requires a lawful reason for every use of personal information. Ours are:
- To carry out your order. We need your phone number and email to deliver what you paid for.
- To meet legal obligations. For example, keeping transaction records.
- Our legitimate interests. Preventing fraud and keeping the service secure, where this does not override your rights.
- Your consent. Where we ask for it, such as before sending you promotional messages. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Payments
When you choose to pay, we send you to our payment provider's secure page. You enter your card or bank details there, not on our website. We never see, receive or store your full card number, expiry date or PIN.
We receive a confirmation that your payment succeeded or failed, along with a payment reference. Our payment provider's own privacy policy applies to the information you give them.
Where your information is stored
Our website is hosted on servers that may be outside Nigeria. When your information is transferred or stored abroad, we make sure the provider protects it to a standard consistent with the NDPA, for example through contractual safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it. In practice:
- Order and payment records are kept as long as needed for support, dispute handling and to meet tax, accounting and regulatory requirements.
- Support messages are kept until your issue is resolved and for a reasonable period afterwards.
- Server logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting.
When we no longer need your information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
How we protect it
We protect your information with HTTPS encryption between your browser and our site, restricted access to our systems and database, and secure payment handling through our providers. No online service is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If a breach puts your rights at risk, we will notify you and the Nigeria Data Protection Commission as the law requires.
Your rights
Under the NDPA, you have the right to:
- Ask whether we hold your information and get a copy of it.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Ask us to delete your information, unless we must keep it by law.
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain uses of your information.
- Withdraw consent you gave us earlier.
- Receive your information in a portable format where this applies.
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, and we will reply within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
Children
Our service is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will make that clear on the site. Please check this page now and then.
